HeeeEEEeeeyyy!! It’s me again!!! How are my pretty little Tangs doing? You all know this season we wear loafers, right? Mocasines, yes, that’s about right. I honestly always felt a little bit divided when it came to loafers because in my head there were 2 possible scenarios:
- To wear flat loafers and feel like a kid
- To wear heeled loafers and feel like a grandma
Call me crazy but that was my chain of thoughts for quite a long time. Nowadays I think I have 3 pairs of heeled loafers so you could say I turned into a hot granny. Anyway… I’m not here to talk about that, I’m here to give you the final guide to purchase your loafers. So here it comes!
Check on Vinted, Etsy, etc.
Many times you will find second hand loafers that have never been used because it’s a type of shoe (specially the heeled ones) that people either wear the whole time or just not at all. If you’re looking for flat ones there’s the chance that some kid got them for school and then switched to a different type of shoe for whatever reason, or finished school and left them new.
Check in big supermarkets
I don’t know how it works in your respective countries but in Spain we can buy school uniforms in the big supermarkets like Carrefour, Hipercor, etc. A lot of schools just have plain uniforms with no relevant details and they let you buy it wherever. I saw the cutest pair of charol loafers in Hipercor last time I went but unfortunately they didn’t have my size. Good for my bank account, on the other side.
Grandma shoe shops
We all know about these old, traditional shoe shops that have been open for over 60 years in our home towns, we all have that, and lemme tell you something, they have amazing shoes for (sometimes) very good prices. If you’re looking for quality, you should visit one of these places, they work with the same brands for years and they know the product.
Basic stores
Don’t try to go to Zara, Mango, etc. to look for nice loafers because they will scam you with a poor quality, overpriced shoe. Instead, try more basic shops like Deichmann, Merkal… They have big stocks and many different versions of each product. I buy a lot from Deichmann and honestly they are my most comfortable shoes.
And there it goes! I don’t have much more to say, just remember to stay true to yourselves and be happy <3 Kisses!!!
