Hello beautiful little Tangs!!! I’m officially on holidays! 10 days at home recharging energies is just what I need after this extra busy month. Today I want to talk to you about a subject I left open in one of my previous posts: the ghosts in your closet.

Ghosts are clothes that just hang there for ages without serving a purpose, so you don’t really wear them at all and they just exist while being ignored. They are normal to have, no worries, but they can be hard to identify. However… your old trustable Crislus Tang is here to help!

Hang you clothes with the hooks backwards

I’m having a non-native English speaker problem here, I hope I can explain this clearly. Basically when you hang your clothes normally, the hook of the hanger is facing the wall, so it’s easier to hang and “un”hang (?). With this method, the hook will be facing YOU. Okay, so hook explained, now here’s the deal. All your clothes should be hanged with the hook backwards and whenever you wear them, you put them back normally. After a couple months you will realize from the position of the hangers how many clothes you actually used and which pieces were just ghosts.

Honestly, I really like this method and I think it’s the easiest, you also don’t need any extra space. There is another version where you just divide your closet in 2 (the second half is left empty) and after wearing the clothes and hanging them back you can see what you used and what’s still there.

    The blogger method

Track your outfits everyday by taking a picture in front of a mirror before you leave the house, seeing your process and combinations day after day will help you notice what you’re not using and also what your style really looks like on a daily basis. I believe the clothes you most commonly choose to wear are the ones that really match your individual style and that you feel the most comfortable in.

This method makes it also easier in case you want to buy a new piece, you can check your outfit gallery and see how you’d make it work with your other garments, a bit like Cher’s fashion computer in Clueless.

    Use all your clothes

This is shock therapy, literally, put all your clothes on your bed and create outfits with every single piece, then wear them. Some outfits will surprise you and others will deceive you, then you’ll notice which garments are to put away. This method is harsh but you will get what feeling each piece is giving you and act consequently.

There’s not a worse feeling than wearing a fit that doesn’t make you comfortable or empowered.

What do I do with the ghosts?

Sell them, donate them, send pictures to your friends and ask them if they want them. There are seven million different ways you can proceed and you can find them in my last post! For now, I hope you have an amazing beginning of September, autumn is coming and morenas love fall, so have the time of your life! See you, kisses!!!!!
